Celebrating International Women's Day 2025

International Women’s Day is not only a chance to reflect on the remarkable contributions of women throughout history but also serves as a powerful call for progress and a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality.

On Saturday, 8th March, Levy Ireland marked the occasion by hosting a special event at Powerscourt Estate in Enniskerry. In collaboration with the 100 Million Trees Project, women from across the Levy Ireland team joined forces to plant a mini forest in a serene area of natural beauty. Having previously worked with the project, Levy Ireland continues to support their vital mission to reverse the environmental damage caused by the global decline of forests, focusing on restoring ecosystems and combating biodiversity loss through large-scale tree planting.

Before rolling up their sleeves and getting to work, the get-together provided a valuable platform for networking. Our team thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to come together with other attendees, share experiences, and build connections surrounded by 1,000 acres of breathtaking Irish countryside.

With shovels in hand and guided by the 100 Million Trees Project team, everyone then got stuck in, working together to leave a positive green footprint for generations to come. By the end of the day, the team had successfully planted hundreds of native Irish trees.

This initiative was a fantastic way to honour the incredible women across our team and also to give back to our local community. Planting trees was a fitting symbol for growth and potential, reflecting the core values of Levy Ireland, our clients, and venue partners. As Ireland’s leading sustainable catering company, we’re continuously making thoughtful adjustments in how we source and serve food, all while protecting Irish soil and contributing to a more sustainable future.

The gathering served as a powerful reminder that individual actions, when combined, can create lasting change. Through this initiative on International Women’s Day, we proved that empowering women and environmental sustainability can go hand in hand, and that together we can plant the seeds for a brighter tomorrow.

About 100 Million Trees Project

The 100 Million Trees Project, founded by Richard and David Mulcahy, aims to plant 100 million native Irish trees across Ireland over the next decade. This community-driven initiative focuses on restoring land, increasing biodiversity, and reducing carbon emissions. By using small, unused plots of land, the project invites local communities, councils, and landowners to get involved in creating a greener, more sustainable future for Ireland.
